Family dispute turns into a horrifying incident in Ballia: Sister-in-law pours boiling water on sister-in-law

A family dispute took a violent turn in Tikhampur village of Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. In this incident that took place on Sunday morning, the sister-in-law threw boiling water on her sister-in-law, due to which she got seriously burnt. The injured woman has been referred to BHU in Varanasi after first aid.

According to the information received, Shreya Singh, wife of Tikhampur resident Shashi Pratap Singh, was listening to bhajan on mobile while working at home. Meanwhile, his younger brother’s wife Gunja Singh alias Rimpi reached there and a dispute started over some issue. It is alleged that Gunja Singh first broke Shreya’s mobile and abused her.

Amidst the controversy, when Shreya Singh sat on the chair crying, Gunja came from behind and poured boiling water on her. After getting badly burnt by the hot water, Shreya fell on the ground and became unconscious. The family members hurriedly took her to the district hospital, where the doctors, seeing her condition as serious, referred her to Varanasi.

As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and took the accused sister-in-law into custody. According to the police officer, this matter is related to a family dispute and further legal action is being taken on the basis of the complaint. The injured woman is undergoing treatment and her condition remains critical.
