On Iran-Israel war, Congress MP Sukhdev Bhagat made a big appeal to Modi government, if you want to become a world leader then break your silence. – ..

News India Live, Digital Desk: The war between Iran and Israel has put the entire world on the brink of economic and energy crisis. Expressing concern over this serious situation, Congress MP from Jharkhand Sukhdev Bhagat has made a sharp attack on the Modi government at the Centre. Bhagat said that even though it is said that “all is fair in love and war”, at the international level even war has human standards and rules which are being violated. He has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break his silence on this issue and clarify where India stands in this hour of crisis.

3 major demands and objections of MP Sukhdev Bhagat:

Clarity on relations with Iran: Sukhdev Bhagat reminded that Iran has been a “natural and traditional friend” of India, which has supported India in international forums on issues like Kashmir. He raised the question that when Iran’s top leadership is under attack, why is India ‘silent’?

Energy Security and Inflation: He warned that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz could severely impact India’s oil and LPG supplies. He alleged that the commercial LPG crisis in the country is deepening and the government should bring a white paper on this in Parliament.

Demand for all-party meeting: Bhagat has demanded that this is not an issue of any one party but a crisis of the entire country. Therefore, the government should immediately call an ‘all-party meeting’ and take the opposition into confidence.

“The country of Gandhi and Buddha cannot remain a mute spectator”

Speaking to ANI, the MP said that India should play its role as an “ambassador of peace”. He said, “War is not the solution to any problem. If we really want to become world leaders, we have to promote dialogue.” He termed the strategy of coming under the influence of America and Israel as worrying for the sovereignty of the country and said that India should stick to its independent foreign policy.

Issue echoing in Parliament: Opposition vs Government

This statement has come at a time when during the budget session of Parliament, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has assured the House that the government is closely monitoring the situation. However, the opposition alleges that the government is avoiding detailed discussion on the issue and the mikes of leaders like Rahul Gandhi are being switched off. Sukhdev Bhagat has warned that if concrete diplomatic steps are not taken in time, India will have to suffer serious economic consequences.
