‘Vaibhav eats ice cream at night’
While Jitesh raised questions on Vaibhav’s professionalism, De Villiers praised the young player. De Villiers said, ‘He is a great player. I have seen him in Under-19. It is not always easy to perform consistently in IPL and at the big level. I was very impressed with the way he played in the World Cup. She is very mature for her age and very professional.
He further said, ‘I am talking about his way of playing. He played sticking to his game plan. The way he played in IPL, he played here also. Didn’t try to be anything different. Didn’t show arrogance against the bowlers. With time he will also become a professional.
As soon as de Villiers said this, Jitesh said, ‘He (Vaibhav) is not professional. I can tell you this. Everyone is trying to make him professional but I don’t think he will ever be able to become professional. Maybe it can be done on the field but not outside the field. I asked him not to eat ice cream at night but he did not listen to me.
