Bihar, which gives the message of peace and good governance to the world, is a symbol of India’s glorious heritage and bright future. The rich culture of Bihar and its languages—Bhojpuri, Maithili and Magahi—are our cultural heritage. Holy festivals like Chhath Puja are a wonderful example of Bihar’s faith, discipline and respect for nature. Delhi government organized a grand Chhath Puja last year. For the first time, model Chhath Ghats were built and devotees got the opportunity to worship at Yamuna Ghat after many years. During the previous government, our government also withdrew the cases filed against the devotees for performing Chhath Puja at Yamuna Ghat. The grandeur of Chhath festival will increase in the coming years.

In the program, song-music and folk dance presentations in Bhojpuri and Maithili languages enthralled the audience. In particular, a captivating performance of Jhijhiya, the famous folk dance of Bihar, was performed.
