Weather becomes pleasant due to rain in Delhi, mercury will rise again in UP-MP; IMD alert in 10 states including Himachal – Read
Delhi-NCR will be lightly cloudy today and there may be drizzle or light rain in some areas, due to which a slight drop in temperature is possible. The sky will be clear in most cities of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Today the weather will be clear during the day, but the heat may increase rapidly in the coming days. According to IMD, the maximum temperature in Delhi today will be 31°C and the minimum will be 17°C. The temperature in Noida, Agra and Lucknow will be between 29-31°C, while in Kanpur the mercury can reach 33°C, while Prayagraj will also be around 31°C. The temperature in cities of Madhya Pradesh like Bhopal, Indore and Ujjain is expected to be 33-34°C.
There is a possibility of cloudy sky in Delhi. The maximum temperature recorded here on Sunday was 29.5 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees less than the seasonal average. The minimum temperature was 15.6 degrees Celsius, which is 1.1 degrees less than the seasonal average.
The weather department has predicted cloudy sky on Monday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 31 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has not yet issued any weather warning. According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 153 at 4 pm on Sunday, which was in the ‘moderate’ category.
Yellow alert issued in Himachal Pradesh
Intermittent rains in Himachal Pradesh led to a massive landslide on Sunday, following which instructions were issued to evacuate nine houses in Ropadu village. The regional meteorological department has issued a yellow alert regarding lightning and thunderstorm with strong winds at the speed of 30-40 km per hour at some places in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi districts on Monday and Thursday.
The India Meteorological Department has predicted on Sunday that there may be sporadic to heavy rains in many areas of India in the coming days. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain, thunderstorm along with strong winds over North-West, North-East, East and Central India, while there may be heavy rain at some places in the North-East and hailstorm in the eastern hills.
The Meteorological Department said that from March 23 to 26, there is a possibility of light rain with scattered thunderstorms and winds at a speed of 30-50 km per hour in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan.
Light to moderate rain in Maharashtra
The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers at some places in the districts of South Central Maharashtra and Marathwada on Sunday. Also, there is a possibility of light rain or thundershowers at some places in the districts of North Central Maharashtra. The regional meteorological department has issued a yellow alert in view of the possibility of thunder and lightning in Latur, Satara, Sangli, Solapur and Osmanabad on March 23.
Over eastern and central India, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds is forecast over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha.
The IMD also said that isolated thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds are likely to occur over Northeast India till March 26, with heavy rainfall at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on March 24.
