New Delhi. Janata Dal United (JDU) party MLA Anant Singh from Mokama, Bihar was finally released from jail today. He got bail from Patna High Court on March 19 in the murder case of Dularchand Yadav. A large number of Anant Singh supporters were present outside Beur Jail in Patna. As soon as he came out of jail, his supporters showered him with flower garlands. Not only this, the fans burst firecrackers and were welcomed with drums all the way from the jail to Anant Singh’s house. Supporters also raised slogans of Anant Singh Zindabad.

Let us tell you that Anant Singh has considerable dominance in Mokama assembly constituency and his name is taken among the powerful MLAs of Bihar. Anant Singh is considered very close to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. In the recently held Rajya Sabha elections, with permission from the court, Anant Singh had reached the Assembly to cast his vote, where he had announced that he would not contest elections in future. Anant Singh had said that when Nitish Kumar is going to Rajya Sabha, now I will not contest the next elections but my sons will contest the elections.

Dularchand Yadav, a supporter of Prashant Kishor’s party Jan Suraj, was murdered during the campaign for the 2025 assembly elections in Bihar. Anant Singh’s name came up in this murder case and the police arrested him. Anant Singh had contested the elections while in jail and had won with a huge majority. Before filing the bail application in Patna High Court, Anant Singh had filed a petition in the MP-MLA court, but citing the seriousness of the allegations, the court had rejected his bail plea.
