Major accident at New York Airport: Air Canada X plane collides with ground operations vehicle

New Delhi. A major accident occurred at LaGuardia Airport in the US on Monday morning. An Air Canada Express passenger plane arriving from Montreal collided with a ground vehicle on the runway during landing. The collision caused chaos at the airport, forcing a brief halt to flight operations.

According to flight tracking data, the plane was attempting to land when
the accident occurred early Monday morning. However, there has been no official confirmation of any injuries.

The entire airport came to a standstill.
Immediately after the accident, the US Federal Aviation Administration imposed a “ground stop” at La Guardia Airport. This means that no aircraft can land or take off from there. In an initial statement, the administration said that the airport would be closed until 6 p.m. due to the emergency.

LaGuardia is New York’s busiest airport. Thousands of passengers
are expected to be stranded due to this accident and the subsequent restrictions. Aviation experts say that while such runway incidents are rare, they have a negative impact on the entire air traffic network.

According to reports, several flights have been diverted. Air Canada and the New York Fire Department have not yet issued any official statements. Investigation teams are on the scene, investigating the cause of the accident.
