Big decision of Railways: Now more money will be deducted on ticket cancellation, know the new rules
Railways: Railways has made a major change in the refund rules to curb black marketing of tickets. Now, on cancellation of tickets, the full amount will not be refunded as before, rather the refund will be deducted based on time. The new rules will be applicable between April 1 and April 15.
What are the new refund rules
According to the new rules of Railways, if a passenger cancels the ticket 8 hours before the departure of the train, he will not get any refund. However, if canceled between 24 hours to 8 hours, only 50% of the money will be refunded. If ticket is canceled 72 hours in advance, up to 75% refund will be given.
What was the rule before?
Earlier, if tickets were canceled 72 hours or earlier, passengers would get almost full money back. But now Railways has tried to increase strictness against black marketing by changing this rule, so that common people can get tickets easily.
Passengers got these new facilities
Along with the new rules, some facilities have also been provided to the passengers. Now passengers can cancel tickets offline from any station. Besides, there will also be an option to change the boarding station through the mobile app, which will make the journey more easy and flexible.
Coach and class upgrade facility
Now passengers can change their seat, coach and class up to 30 minutes before the departure of the train. That means, if the seat is vacant, you can also upgrade from 3rd AC to 1st AC. The aim of Railways is to provide more convenience and better travel experience to the passengers.
