Pakistan in Iran War: America And amidst the ongoing war with Israel, Pakistan is trying to present itself as an important mediator. According to the Financial Times report, Asim Munir spoke to Donald Trump on phone on Sunday, in which ways to end this conflict were discussed.

Earlier on March 23, Trump had claimed that ‘very positive talks’ have taken place between America and Iran and progress is being made towards ending the war completely. However, Iran’s Foreign Ministry rejected these claims and said that no such talks had taken place with Washington.

Meanwhile, a diplomat from a Gulf country indicated that a major energy crisis has been averted amid the recent tensions, as a possible attack by the US on Iran’s energy sites and its response were put on hold for the time being. An Egyptian official told The Associated Press that messages were delivered between the US and Iran through regional intermediaries – Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan – in an effort to reduce tensions.

Will the White House Secretary go to Pakistan?

According to news agency ANI, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked whether US Vice President JD Vance and US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would meet Iranian officials in Islamabad this week. To this he replied that this is a very sensitive diplomatic conversation and any kind of speculations should not be considered correct before the official announcement.

Will the war end on April 9?

According to Israeli media reports, America has set April 9 as a possible deadline to end this war. A report quoting Turkish news agency Anadolu said that Washington has set this goal, which leaves limited time for both negotiations and conflict.

Another report said that efforts are underway to bring senior representatives of both the parties together. This may include Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and from the US side Witkoff, Kushner and possibly Vance. However, this has not been confirmed yet from both sides.

Is the meeting going to be held in Islamabad?

According to reports, the mediator countries are trying to organize a meeting in Islamabad, which will be attended by representatives of Iran and America. It is being told that Ghalibaf has emerged as a major decision maker during this conflict and American envoys have also had talks with him.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke on phone to Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian and expressed deep concern about the increasing tension in West Asia. He stressed the need for collective efforts to reduce this crisis.
