‘Zero tolerance’ policy has changed the picture of law, order and investment in Uttar Pradesh – CM Yogi
A big change is being seen in Uttar Pradesh regarding law and order and industrial development. The state government claims that strict action against organized crime and mafia system has completely changed the identity of the state. Whereas earlier there was influence of mafia gangs in many areas, now the government is claiming to put a strict ban on crime under the ‘zero tolerance’ policy.
Strictness on mafia system, parallel power ended
According to the government view, earlier mafia gangs used to exercise parallel power in many police station areas and districts of the state. These gangs were a big challenge for common citizens, businessmen and entrepreneurs.
But the Uttar Pradesh government adopted a strict stance and launched a massive campaign against the criminals. The objective of this policy was clearly to curb crime and not show any leniency towards criminals.
Emphasis on ‘zero tolerance’ and ‘zero corruption’
The government not only implemented crime control but also implemented a strict policy against corruption. Along with ‘zero tolerance’, ‘zero corruption’ was also given priority. According to government claims, its effect was that the administrative system became more transparent and investor confidence increased.
Changed environment for investment
Till a few years ago, there was an atmosphere of doubt regarding investment in Uttar Pradesh. When invitations were given for investment, investors were hesitant. But now the situation seems to be changing. According to the state government, investors from India and abroad are now coming forward themselves and expressing their desire to invest.
It has been claimed that land bank of about 75,000 acres is available in the state, which is considered important for big industrial projects.
Rapid development in infrastructure
Emphasis has also been laid on infrastructure development in Uttar Pradesh. Whereas earlier there was a shortage of expressways, now the state has a major share of the expressway network in the country. This share is expected to increase further after the completion of Ganga Expressway. There has also been a big improvement in air connectivity.
Earlier there were limited airports, whereas now many new domestic and international airports have been developed.
Work is underway to make Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) the country’s largest logistics and cargo hub.
Better connectivity and industrial expansion
Work has been done to connect all the district headquarters of the state with four-lane roads and develop better road network up to the tehsil level. Apart from this, metro services have also been extended to many cities, which has improved urban transportation.
Changing perception and new possibilities
The government says that earlier entrepreneurs were forced to set up industries in other states due to security reasons. But now the same investors are returning and investing in Uttar Pradesh. Expansion of industrial activities is being seen in various areas of the state, Bundelkhand, Purvanchal, Western and Central Uttar Pradesh.
