Independent MP from Baramulla Abdul Rashid Shaikh alias Engineer Rashid made a big announcement in the Lok Sabha and extended a helping hand to the 162 girls who died in the tragic accident in Iran. He said that he will donate one month’s salary for the reconstruction of that school. Speaking in Parliament, Engineer Rasheed said that he will also write a formal letter in this regard. He appealed to the Central Government that India should stand with Iran in this difficult time.

He said that the Prime Minister has also expressed the fear of the situation worsening, in such a situation India should support Iran by adopting a humanitarian approach. He also praised the people of Jammu and Kashmir and said that the people there have donated crores of rupees to help the victims of Iran. Engineer Rashid also commented on the international situation and said that no matter which country the common citizens live in, their lives have the highest value. He also said that there should be sympathy towards the Israeli civilians who are victims of the conflict.
The MP said the people of Kashmir have set an example of humanity—many donated their property, even gold and vehicles. Saluting this spirit, he himself decided to contribute. This statement has come at a time when tension is increasing at the international level and many countries are coming forward for humanitarian aid.
