Amidst the tension prevailing in West Asia, US President Donald Trump has spoken to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore gave this information on Tuesday. India has always emphasized on resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.

This is the first telephonic conversation between the two leaders since the start of the ongoing war in West Asia. The two leaders discussed the current situation in the Middle East, with particular emphasis on maintaining safe and open navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. This region is an important route for global oil supplies and tensions have increased due to the recent conflict.

Sergio Gore on X Post told that President Donald Trump spoke to Prime Minister Modi. They discussed the ongoing situation in the Middle East, including the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open.

The war between America-Israel vs Iran in West Asia has been going on for about 25 days. Global oil and gas supply has been affected due to Iran’s attack and blockage in the Strait of Hormuz. India imports more than 60 percent of its crude oil and gas from the region, so the crisis is directly affecting India’s energy security.

Addressing Parliament in the Lok Sabha on Monday and the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, PM Modi described the crisis as “worrying” and said India is in constant touch with all parties (Iran, Israel, US and Gulf countries). He stressed on reducing tension and the path of dialogue.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, President Trump claimed that meaningful talks were ongoing between his country and Iran. The dialogue between their representatives and Iran has been positive and productive.

Due to this, he has asked his officials not to attack Iran’s energy plants for the next five days. Whereas, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said that no talks are taking place between Tehran and Washington.

However, before this Trump had given Iran an ultimatum of 48 hours to open Hormuz.
