Dharmendra NALCO Production Incentive Explained
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday met Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy and urged him to announce a ‘Production Gift’ (production incentive bonus) for the employees of National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO).
Highlighting NALCO’s stellar performance, Pradhan noted that the company posted a record profit before tax (PBT) of Rs 7,135 crore in the financial year 2024-25. He attributed this historic achievement to the relentless hard work, dedication, and commitment of every worker and employee.
The Education Minister proposed that a portion of the profits be distributed as a ‘Production Gift’ to the employees, based on a recommendation from the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) Coordination Committee. He recalled that a similar incentive was successfully given in FY 2021-22, which had significantly boosted workers’ enthusiasm and motivation.
Pradhan emphasised that approving the incentive would further raise employee morale, spur higher productivity, and help NALCO achieve even greater operational excellence and profits in the coming years. He requested the Coal and Mines Minister to consider the proposal sympathetically, keeping in mind the company’s institutional excellence and employee welfare.
The meeting was also attended by Dhenkanal MP Rudra Narayan Pani, Mayurbhanj MP Naba Charan Majhi, Angul MLA Pratap Chandra Pradhan, and members of the BMS Coordination Committee, who joined Pradhan in making the request.
