‘The director tried to touch inappropriately’

Monalisa revealed the matter at a press conference in Kochi along with her husband, actor Farman Khan. He told that these incidents took place in Nepal and Dehradun during the shooting of the film ‘The Diary of Manipur’. At that time Monalisa was less than 18 years old. She said, ‘The director touched me inappropriately and made unwanted physical contact. When I told my family about this, they did not take it seriously. He said this is my first film, I will get money, so keep quiet.

‘Not letting me live’

Expressing her feelings, Monalisa said, ‘They are not letting me live. Now I am being harassed by giving the color of ‘love jihad’ to my marriage. Because of their influence, my husband and I are receiving threats. We are afraid to even leave Kerala. He alleged that even his family did not support him due to greed for money.

Got recognition by selling garlands in Mahakumbh

Monalisa’s story went viral while selling garlands in the Mahakumbh of 2025. An ordinary girl who used to sell garlands to support her family has now become a star overnight. Sanoj Mishra gave him a chance to act in his film and also gave him acting training. But now the same director is facing serious allegations against him. Monalisa says that being a minor, these cases can also come under the POCSO Act.

No response from Sanoj Mishra

In the press conference, Farman Khan also supported his wife and said that she got married in the temple of her own free will. He clarified that it was a love marriage, in which there was no forced conversion. At the same time, no official statement has come from Sanoj Mishra till now, although earlier he had given statements like ‘Love Jihad’ regarding Monalisa’s marriage and raised questions on the release of the film. Monalisa’s life is now stuck between threats and allegations. Many people are raising their voice in his support on social media, while some are also giving statements in favor of his family and the director. Police investigation into this matter is ongoing. Monalisa said, ‘I just want to tell the truth, so that no other girl suffers this kind of pain.’
