Meanwhile, S&P 500 futures rose more than 2.5 percent before the market opened, while oil prices plunged. Brent crude fell below $92 from $109, and West Texas Intermediate fell nearly 6 percent to settle at $88.70 a barrel. But whether a single person or multiple entities were behind Monday’s transactions remains unclear.
