The film did not get much craze at the time of its release in 2018, but it was re-released in 2024 and the audience loved it tremendously. Seeing this response, the makers announced its sequel, Tumbbad 2.
The craze of ‘Tumbbad 2’ increased
‘Tumbbad’ gained a cult following since its release and has been ranked among the best horror films of Hindi cinema. It became the second highest-grossing Indian film after its re-release in 2024. After this success, fans are eagerly waiting for ‘Tumbbad 2’.
Sohum Shah will reprise his role in the sequel and this time the film will also feature popular Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui. This will be the first time when Sohum Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen together on screen.
Huge set being built in Mumbai
According to reports, a huge, city-like set is being built on 7 to 8 acres of land in Mumbai for the first schedule of ‘Tumbbad 2’. This indicates that the production and visual scale of the film is going to be much larger than the previous film. The makers are designing it to give next level horror experience.
‘Tumbbad 2’ is being made under the banner of Sohum Shah Films and Penn Studios. The makers plan to start shooting for the film by the end of this year. However, no official information has been received about the release date yet.
