Women’s T20I Team Rankings: Mandhana remains at second position, Harmanpreet reaches 14th position in T20 International rankings
Dubai: India opener Smriti Mandhana has retained her second position in the ICC Women’s T20 International batsmen’s rankings while captain Harmanpreet Kaur moved up to 14th in the latest rankings released here on Tuesday. Apart from Mandhana, aggressive batsman Shefali Verma is the second Indian player in the top 10. She retained her sixth position, while Jemimah Rodrigues remained joint 11th.
In the bowling department, spin all-rounder Deepti Sharma moved up one place to third position, while fast bowler Renuka Singh Thakur remained at sixth position. Fast bowler Arundhati Reddy has dropped out of the top 10 and has slipped to 11th position. Deepti has also reached third position in the ranking of all-rounders.
Australia opener Georgia Woll entered the top 10 of the batting rankings for the first time, while New Zealand star Sophie Devine’s two consecutive half-centuries against South Africa helped her move up two places to 18th in the list. 15-year-old Fanny Utagushimaninde of Rwanda became the first female player in the world to score a century in her T20 International debut (against Ghana). Not only this, she also became the youngest player to score a century in the shortest format of the game in men’s and women’s cricket. With this he has entered the ranking at 66th position.
