Villagers have made serious allegations against a Bharat Gas Agency located in Kharsil village of Saifni police station area of the district. Villagers say that black marketing of gas cylinders is being done by the agency and fake bookings are being registered in the name of consumers.
According to the villagers, many consumers have not taken gas cylinder for the last 6 months to one year, yet booking is being shown in their name without OTP. Due to this, questions have been raised on the functioning of the agency and the possibility of irregularities is being raised.
On getting information about the matter, a journalist reached the spot for coverage. It is alleged that the agency operator misbehaved with the journalist and pushed him. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot, but the villagers allege that the police warned the journalist of action against broadcasting the news.
There is an atmosphere of anger in the area after this incident. Villagers say that when the government is making big claims regarding gas supply, such black marketing and irregularities are very worrying.
The villagers have demanded from the administration that the entire matter should be investigated impartially and strict action should be taken against the culprits, so that common consumers can get their rights and such incidents can be stopped in future.
