Numaligarh Refinery Limited: Newen Green Energy Private Limited, a 50:50 joint venture between Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India Private Limited, has been awarded the contract to supply 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per annum to Numaligarh Refinery Limited. According to the statement, under the agreement, Nuen will develop a green hydrogen production plant at NRL’s refinery in Assam.

It is expected to start commercial operations in 2028. It will use advanced storage systems along with renewable energy. This will enable 24-hour reliable operation of the refinery to reduce carbon emissions.
