“Americans are only talking to themselves,” Iranian military mocks Trump

Desk. Iran’s military has strongly ridiculed US President Donald Trump’s claim that he had meaningful and good talks with Iran. Trump had said, “We had good talks with Iran for two days and therefore we will not attack Iran for the next five days.” An Iranian military spokesman on Wednesday mocked US attempts to broker a ceasefire agreement and insisted that the Americans were only negotiating with themselves.

In a pre-recorded video broadcast on state television, Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for the Iranian military’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, vehemently mocked President Trump and the United States. He said, “The strategic strength you used to talk about has now turned into a strategic failure.” The Iranian military further stated that if the self-proclaimed global superpower could have gotten out of this mess, it would have done so by now.

The Iranian military said, “Don’t turn your defeat into a compromise. The era of your empty promises is over.” He further asked, “Have your internal conflicts become so severe that you are now negotiating with yourselves?” Zolfaghari’s statement came shortly after the Trump administration sent a 15-point ceasefire proposal to Iran through Pakistan. He said, “Our first and last words have been the same from the beginning and will remain the same: People like us will never compromise with people like you. Not now, not ever.”
