If you forget UPI PIN, then tension is over, now payment up to Rs 5000 will be done through fingerprint and face on BHIM app, know the complete method.

News India Live, Digital Desk: In the era of Digital India, a big and relief news has come for those making UPI payments. Often people forget their UPI PIN in a hurry or the transaction fails due to entering the wrong PIN. Solving this problem, NBSL, a unit of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has launched a revolutionary biometric authentication feature on the BHIM app. Now you will be able to make payment up to ₹ 5000 only through your fingerprint or Face ID, without entering the PIN. The hassle of PIN is over, now money transfer will have to be done by just putting the thumb. This new feature introduced by NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL) has been specially designed to make small and everyday transactions faster. Till now it was mandatory to enter a 4 or 6 digit secret PIN for every small and big payment, but now for amounts up to ₹ 5000 you can use the in-built biometric sensor of your smartphone. This facility has been made available to both Android and iOS smartphone users. How does this new ‘biometric mode’ work? This technology uses your phone’s security systems. When you click on the ‘Pay’ button for payment, the app will ask you for the option of fingerprint or face unlock instead of PIN. The money will be transferred immediately as soon as your phone confirms your identity. However, keeping security in mind, it will still be mandatory to enter UPI PIN for transactions of more than ₹ 5000, so that large payments remain completely safe. Activate this magical feature on BHIM app like this. If you also want to take advantage of this facility, then you just have to follow some easy steps. First of all update your BHIM app to the latest version. After this, open the app and go to the ‘Profile’ section. Here select your bank account from which you want to make the transaction. Here you will see the option of ‘Activate Biometric Transactions’, once you turn it on your work will be done. Next time you will not need to remember the PIN while making payment. Security has also been taken full care of. Many people may have questions regarding privacy, but experts say that it is more secure than PIN. Since biometric data is stored within your phone and is not sent to any external server, the risk of data theft is minimal. Besides, this will also prevent fraudulent incidents like PIN sharing or viewing the PIN from behind the shoulder.
