Malayalam actor E.A. Rajendran passes away at the age of 71

Famous actor and director EA Rajendran passed away at the age of 71. He breathed his last at his residence in Pattathanam, Kollam. According to Manorama Online report, E.A. Rajendran was undergoing treatment for age-related diseases for a long time.

Entertainment News: Well-known actor and director of Malayalam film industry EA Rajendran passed away on Thursday, 26 March 2026 at the age of 71. He breathed his last at his residence in Kollam, Kerala. He was suffering from age-related health problems for a long time. There has been a wave of mourning in the South Indian film world due to his demise and many artists and film lovers have paid tribute to him.

According to reports, Rajendran was undergoing treatment for various health issues for some time. He is survived by his wife Sandhya Rajendran. His last rites will be performed on March 27 at his native place Thritallur, Thrissur district.

The journey of acting started from theatre.

EA Rajendran was born in Thrittallur in Thrissur district of Kerala. He was interested in acting since childhood. He started participating in plays since his school days and it was from here that the foundation of his acting career was laid. After completing his studies, he joined the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi, from where he received formal education in acting.

After this, he also did a course related to television from the Film and Television Institute based in Pune. The strong foundation he got from theater helped him a lot in making a mark in films.

Rajendran acted in more than 60 films in his career. He was especially known for his villainous and supporting roles. His powerful screen presence and serious acting style gave him a distinct identity in Malayalam cinema. He started his film career with director V.R. Had done with Gopinath’s film Grishmam.
