The sender of the email described himself as a resident of Coimbatore. Expressing his displeasure for political reasons, he talked about the attack. It was written in the message that 16 IED bombs filled with RDX have been planted in the assembly premises. A warning was also given to evacuate the entire area before the blast.

Threat was received a day before also
Even on Tuesday, a few hours before the presentation of the budget, the Assembly had received a bomb threat. At 7:28 am, a threatening email was received on the official email ID of the Assembly and at 7:49 am, Speaker Vijendra Gupta received a threatening email. In it, apart from the Assembly building, there was also talk of blowing up the nearby Delhi Metro station.
The Prime Minister, Home Minister, Lieutenant Governor and other leaders were also mentioned in that email. Security forces immediately investigated the entire premises, but no suspicious object was found. The police had closed the investigation calling that threat fake.
tight security arrangements
Despite the threats on both the days, the security of Delhi Assembly was already kept strong. Due to the ongoing budget session, strict checking was already being done in the premises. Police have said that no risk will be taken until the investigation is completed.
So far, no bomb or explosive material has been found in either threat. Security agencies are trying to trace the source of the email. Usually such threats turn out to be fake, but every time complete caution is taken.
