India shines in Asia Cup Archery 2026, wins 2 bronze medals in Bangkok

In the first phase of Asia Cup Archery 2026, India performed brilliantly and won two bronze medals. Asia Cup Archery 2026 Stage I is being organized in Bangkok, where Indian players showed strong performance.

In the women’s recurve team, the trio of Ruma Biswas, Kirti and Ridhi performed brilliantly and won the bronze medal by defeating Malaysia 5-1. The team defeated Chinese Taipei 6–2 in the quarterfinals, however, lost 5–1 to China in the semi-finals. After this the team came back and won the bronze.

In the men’s compound team, Rajat Chauhan, Uday Kamboj and Rishabh Yadav won the bronze medal by defeating Bhutan 234-232 in a very close match. This team defeated Chinese Taipei in the quarter-finals, but lost to Vietnam by 1 point in the semi-finals.

India also showed dominance in the qualification round, where the men’s compound team topped with 2126 points. Rajat Chauhan performed brilliantly with 712 points, while Rishabh Yadav and Uday Kamboj were also close to him.

Now in the last days of the competition, India is eyeing the gold medal. The women’s compound and men’s recurve teams have already reached the finals, where they will face Kazakhstan.

Apart from this, mixed team combats will be played on Thursday, while the individual finals will be held on Friday. Tejal Rajendra Salve will fight for bronze in the women’s compound, while India’s final match will be seen in the men’s compound, in which Prabandhak Javakar and Uday Kamboj will face each other.

India has fielded 16 teams in this tournament, which includes 8 men and 8 women players. In such a situation, there is every hope that India’s medal count will increase further in the coming competitions.
