Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana saved the life of a 37 year old woman, life saving surgery worth Rs 4 lakh was done for free

Chief Minister Health Scheme of Punjab Government has once again proved to be a milestone in saving lives. In the critical condition of 37-year-old Sukhpal Kaur, timely and free treatment was possible, which saved her life. This case shows the effectiveness and sensitivity of the state’s health model.

Deadly disease and need of immediate treatment

Chandigarh resident Sukhpal Kaur suddenly suffered a serious heart disease, aortic dissection. This is a very dangerous condition, in which the main blood vessel of the body is affected and immediate surgery is necessary.

He was immediately admitted to PGIMER Chandigarh, where doctors advised immediate operation considering the seriousness of the situation. The estimated cost of treatment and surgery was around Rs 4 lakh, which was very difficult for the family to raise immediately.

Big relief from health card

The health card issued under the Chief Minister Health Scheme provided great support in this time of crisis. As soon as the card was verified in the hospital, treatment was started without any delay. The entire surgery and treatment was covered under the cashless facility of up to Rs 10 lakh, due to which the family did not have to face any financial burden. This facility is very important in such cases, where every minute of delay can prove fatal.

Doctors told the importance of time

PGIMER’s doctor, Dr. Sachin Mahajan, said that in cases like aortic dissection, it is very important to do surgery immediately. He said that because of this scheme, doctors do not have to wait for financial approval, due to which treatment can be started immediately and the chances of saving the patient’s life increases.

Government’s commitment

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh described this case as an example of the government’s commitment. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, this scheme is providing better health services to the people without any financial pressure.

The family expressed gratitude

Sukhpal Kaur’s family told that if the health card was not there, it would not have been possible to arrange such a huge amount. His life could be saved due to timely treatment, for which he thanked the government and doctors.

Example of change in health services

This case proves that the right policy and effective implementation can bring about a big change in health services. Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana is not only providing financial help but is also ensuring that the treatment of any citizen does not stop due to lack of money.
