RCB may get a big shock just before IPL 2026, this star fast bowler did not get NOC

Sports Desk, Busted. Sri Lankan fast bowler Nuwan Thushara may be out of the Indian Premier League 2026. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has refused to give him No Objection Certificate (NOC) after the implementation of the new fitness policy, which has made it difficult for him to play IPL. In fact, Sri Lanka Cricket has recently implemented a new policy, under which it has been made mandatory for players to pass a strict physical performance test to participate in franchise leagues like IPL and PSL. Thushara’s participation in IPL depended on the results of this fitness test.

According to media reports, Thushara has failed to achieve the required fitness points. For this reason SLC refused to issue him NOC. Let us tell you that Thushara is a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL, who bought him for Rs 1.6 crore. Thushara not playing IPL can be a big blow for RCB. Earlier, he could not even make it to the T20 World Cup 2026 team. Despite injuries to many fast bowlers, he was ignored, due to which his position was already weak.

If media reports are to be believed, Thushara is not injured at the moment and is capable of bowling, but there are concerns about his overall fitness. For this reason the selectors have adopted a strict stance this time. It is noteworthy that Sri Lanka Cricket has given NOC only to those players who have met the new fitness standards. Players like Dushmantha Chameera, Dasun Shanaka, Pathum Nissanka and Kamindu Mendis have passed the test and have been allowed to play in the IPL. Now it remains to be seen whether Thushara is able to pass the fitness test again or he gets cleared from IPL 2026. Let us tell you that IPL 2026 is to start from March 28 and the first match is to be played between Hyderabad and RCB at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
