Savannah Guthrie recalls moment she learned her mother was missing

American journalist Savannah Guthrie is opening up about her mother’s missing after almost two months.

The journalist’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing on February 1 after being last seen on January 31 near her home in Arizona where she resided.

Savannah has shared the emotional moment she discovered her mother had gone missing in an emotional revelation.

Speaking on Today with Hoda Kotb, the 54-year-old recalled receiving a panicked call from her sister, Annie Guthrie, who told her their mother was “gone.”

“My sister called me and I said, ‘Is everything okay?’ And she said, ‘No, Mom’s missing,’” she recalled, “I said, ‘What? What are you talking about?’ She said, ‘She’s gone.’”

The journalist said her husband, Mike Feldman, was out of town for a tennis trip, meanwhile, she had taken their two kids over to her colleague, Carson Daly’s house, when it happened.

She said her family’s first instinct was to believe her mother was probably at a hospital but with time they realised she is missing.
