Foreign Minister S. on France tour Jaishankar, major issues from Ukraine war to maritime security will be discussed in the G7 meeting.

digital desk- Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will be on an important visit to France from Thursday to Friday, where he will participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of G7 countries. This visit is considered very important from the point of view of global diplomacy, because there is going to be extensive discussion on many burning issues of the world. According to the official statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Jaishankar is doing this visit on the invitation of France’s Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot. During this, along with participating in the G7 Foreign Ministers’ meeting, he will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from different countries.

Important discussions will be held on many topics including Ukraine war, maritime security

According to the background briefing issued by the French Foreign Ministry, many important issues like Ukraine war, its reconstruction efforts, maritime security, global supply chain and reform of global governance will be discussed in this meeting. Separate sessions will be organized especially regarding the Ukraine crisis, in which the focus will be on reconstruction, security and humanitarian assistance. Giving details of the agenda of the meeting, French Foreign Ministry spokesman Pascal Confaveraux said that the meeting is taking place on the heels of an informal ministerial meeting held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and will serve as preparation for the upcoming summit of G7 leaders. He said that this process will prepare the basis for the summit to be held between 13 to 15 June.

Special discussion will be held to keep the supply chain safe

Issues such as nuclear security, landmine removal efforts and funding for reconstruction of war-affected areas will also be considered at the meeting. During this, the role of international financial institutions like the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will also be discussed, especially in terms of mobilizing investment for the reconstruction of Ukraine. Maritime security is also an important agenda of this meeting. In this, topics like security of sea routes, freedom of navigation and securing the global supply chain will be discussed. Apart from this, threats related to drug trafficking and important minerals will also be discussed.

Many countries were invited

A special thing about this meeting is that apart from G7 countries, non-G7 partner countries like India, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Brazil and Ukraine have also been invited. This clearly indicates that efforts are being made to promote broader cooperation and dialogue on global issues. Most of the sessions will be held on Thursday, while an important session will be held on Friday morning. Apart from this, many working dinners and other programs have also been organized, through which in-depth discussion and exchange of ideas will be promoted.
