Ahmedabad: In IPL 2025, Punjab Kings have won by defeating Gujarat Titans. This high-scoring match remained very exciting till the last over, where the game seemed to change with every ball, but Punjab bowlers performed brilliantly in the last moments and snatched the victory from the clutches of Gujarat Titans. Batting first, Punjab Kings scored a huge score of 243 runs with the help of Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy innings (97 runs). Excellent strokeplay was seen in his explosive innings, which provided a strong base to the team.
Chasing the target, Gujarat Titans had a great start and it seemed that they would easily reach the target but in the final overs of the match, Vijay Kumar Vyas’s tight bowling changed the entire equation of the game. Due to his accurate yorkers and excellent line-length, Gujarat’s batsmen came under pressure and ultimately the entire team could score only 232 runs, due to which Punjab won the match by 11 runs.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans captain Shubhman Gilley had decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Batting first, Punjab Kings scored 243 runs losing five wickets in 20 overs and gave Gujarat a huge target of 244 runs. Shreyas Iyer batted brilliantly and scored 97 runs, but he missed his first IPL century. Shreyas Iyer played a stormy inning of 97 runs in 42 balls. He hit five fours and nine sixes in his brilliant innings.
At the same time, Shashank Singh played a quick innings of 44 runs. Shashank Singh scored 44 runs in just 17 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes. Priyansh Arya played a useful inning of 47 runs, which helped Punjab Kings to score a big score. Sai Sudarshan (74) and Jos Buttler (54) played impressive innings for Gujarat Titans and at one stage it seemed that Gujarat would chase the target comfortably. Gujarat’s victory was almost certain in the presence of both the batsmen, but Punjab Kings made a strong comeback in the last overs and changed the course of the match. Sai Sudarshan played a brilliant inning of 74 runs in 41 balls, in which he hit 5 fours and 6 sixes. At the same time, Jos Buttler scored 54 runs in 33 balls, which included 4 fours and 4 sixes.
