Actually, according to the Taj update of IPL 2026, Sri Lankan pace bowlers Nuwan Thushara and Mathisha Pathirana will not be able to play in IPL 2026. Both of them have not been given NOC by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board. Due to no objection certificate, both of them will not be able to play in IPL. If sources are to be believed, both of them are not completely match fit yet. Sri Lanka Cricket does not want to take any further risk regarding his injury. That’s why they have taken this decision.

In IPL 2026, Nuwan Thushara was a part of RCB, while Mathisha Pathirana was a part of KKR. Both these players will now be out of IPL 2026 due to not being match fit. Australian right-handed batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk withdrew from Pakistan Super League 2026 on March 22 citing personal reasons. After leaving PSL, now news of his joining IPL is coming out. According to the update on March 26, he can be included in the squad of Delhi Capitals in place of Ben Duckett. He has also played in IPL for Delhi Capitals before.

Along with this, a relief news has also come for RCB. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s leading fast bowler and Australian star Josh Hazlewood has also come to India. He has reached Bengaluru today. He will soon join the team but will be out of the first phase of IPL 2026. In such a situation, he may miss the first 4 matches.
