LHQ vs HYDK: The opening match of Pakistan Super League 2026 was played between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen. Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and decided to bat first at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. After which Lahore Qalandar team has scored 199 runs after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Hyderabad Kingsmen team scored only 130 runs and lost the match by 69 runs. For Lahore, spin all-rounder Sikandar Raza performed brilliantly with both ball and bat.

Lahore Qalandar scored big

After winning the toss, Lahore Qalandars team got a very good start after coming to bat first. Opener Fakhar Zaman played an inning of 53 runs in 39 balls. While supporting him, Mohammad Naeem played an inning of 30 runs in 19 balls. Abdullah Shafiq could score only 4 runs. In the end, wicketkeeper batsman Hasibuullah Khan played an unbeaten inning of 40 runs in 28 balls. Whereas Sikandar Raza played an inning of 24 runs in just 10 balls. In the end Shaheen Shah Afridi scored 12 runs in 2 balls. Due to which Lahore team scored 199 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Riley Meredith and Hasan Khan took 2-2 wickets for Hyderabad Kingsmen. Mohammad Ali also took 1 wicket.

Hyderabad Kingsmen got a shameful defeat

Hyderabad Kingsmen team, which came to chase the target of 200 runs, did not get a good start. Sam Ayub scored only 17 runs. Whereas wicketkeeper batsman Usman Khan could also add only 9 runs. Captain Marnus Labuschagne added only 26 runs. Apart from the captain, no other batsman could cross the 20-run mark. Due to which the team could score only 130 runs in 20 overs and lost by a huge margin of 69 runs. For Lahore Qalandars, Sikandar Raza, Haris Rauf and Obaid Shah took 2 wickets each.
