Kerosene now available on Rashcard; Govt’s decision amid gas shortage

Kerosene on Ration Cards | The direct impact of the war between Iran and Israel is now being felt on India as well. India is mainly dependent on the Gulf countries for energy and crude oil, so India is also facing serious problems due to the Iran-Israel conflict. The war has largely disrupted gas and oil supplies in the Middle East. As a direct result of this, the daily life of the citizens has been seriously affected due to the shortage of gas cylinders in households across the country.

The prices of LPG gas have increased in this background and the government has also extended the gas booking period. However, despite these measures, citizens are not getting gas on time in many areas. This has made it difficult to cook food at home and many families have to wait a long time. Domestic life, especially women’s cooking, is seen to be directly affected due to non-availability of gas itself on time. Kerosene on Ration Cards

Considering this serious situation, the central government and the state government have taken a big step for the food security of the citizens. They have decided to provide kerosene to ration card holders as well as non-ration card citizens. Even if the gas cylinder is not available on time, citizens will be able to prepare meals using kerosene on the stove. So no one should go hungry, this is the main objective of the government.

The central government has approved the distribution of 37 lakh 44 thousand liters of kerosene (Kerosene on Ration Cards). Out of this, the state government has made a concrete plan for district wise distribution. During March-April 2026, kerosene will be supplied across the state through major oil companies Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum. The state government has directed all the district supply officers to review the village wise demand and submit a report within two to three days.

According to the government’s plan, 85 percent of the total kerosene distribution has been ordered to be completed in the first fortnight. 3 liters of kerosene will be provided for each family or ration card. Also, families who do not have ration cards will also get kerosene. So citizens need not worry about this situation.

These measures of the government will bring great relief to the domestic life. Especially the citizens of rural areas, who were struggling to cook regular meals due to lack of gas, will benefit greatly from this kerosene supply.
