The investigation at the local level into the matter of capturing government land worth billions of rupees, plotting it and selling a large part of it is in the final stages. After taking action against the land mafia who illegally encroached upon government land worth billions of rupees in Kashipur Upharhar, Mariadih and Rasoolpur villages of the city west, action has now been started against the guilty officials of the tehsil.
After suspending a revenue inspector and sending a report to the government for action against the retired revenue inspector, it is now said that other officers will be punished. Now the process of canceling the deeds of land that was captured and sold fraudulently has also been started.
The issue of occupation of Kanha Gaushala land of Municipal Corporation and about 33 bighas of land of Election Commission and ATS in these three villages had reached Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath last year. At the government level, a SIT comprising Housing and Urban Planning Department Secretary Balkar Singh, IG Prayagraj Ajay Kumar Mishra and ADM Administration Rae Bareli Siddhant Kumar was formed.
At the local level, an investigation committee was also formed comprising DCP Nagar, ADM Finance and Revenue, PDA Secretary ADCP, Deputy Collector, Tehsildar and ACP Dhumanganj. On the basis of the investigation report of SIT, a case was registered against close relatives and relatives of mafia Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf, who have also been declared land mafia.
