Road accident in Gwalior early today, five dead, four injured

Gwalior. In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, early today, a speeding Scorpio collided with an auto rickshaw near the Jain temple at Parshuram intersection in Thatipur area. In this accident, five people died on the spot, while four people were seriously injured. Many members of the same family are among those who lost their lives in the accident. The injured also include two children, who are undergoing treatment in Gwalior hospital.

This accident happened at around 3 in the morning. The auto riders were returning after visiting Shitala Mata temple. There were a total of nine people in the auto. The collision was so severe that the auto went out of control and collided with a neem tree on the roadside and was completely damaged. The passengers did not even get a chance to recover. Local people immediately informed the police and ambulance. The team that reached the spot took the injured to the hospital, where five people were declared dead.

According to eyewitnesses, the Scorpio driver first hit an e-rickshaw near the bus stand. After this the police was chasing him. In an attempt to escape, the driver drove the vehicle at high speed and hit the auto on the way. According to the injured, the Scorpio driver was drunk and was driving recklessly. He was alone in the Scorpio. The police have arrested the accused driver.
