PM Modi will discuss the Middle East crisis with Chief Ministers on Friday!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with Chief Ministers through video conferencing on Friday, in which he will review the preparedness and plans of the states regarding the West Asia conflict. The official said that the main objective of this meeting will be to coordinate efforts to work together in the spirit of ‘Team India’.

As geopolitical tensions are increasing and its global impact is becoming more clearly visible, this meeting can act as a platform for PM Modi. Through this platform, PM Modi will brief the Chief Ministers about the current situation and try to build a broad consensus on India’s way to deal with this crisis.

“Chief ministers of election-bound states will not attend this meeting as the ‘code of conduct’ is in force there,” the official said. He said that there will be a separate meeting for the Chief Secretaries of the election-bound states, which will be organized through the Cabinet Secretariat.

Earlier, on Wednesday evening, the government had called an ‘all-party meeting’ in the Parliament House complex in New Delhi to discuss the situation in West Asia.

This meeting took place after PM Modi’s speech in Parliament on the situation in West Asia. In his statement, PM Modi said that the government has formed seven ’empowered groups’ to formulate strategies in fuel, supply chain, fertilizer and other sectors to reduce the impact of the ongoing conflict between Iran-Israel-America.

This all-party meeting held on Wednesday was presided over by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. In this meeting Home Minister Amit Shah, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, JDU working president Sanjay Jha, Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh and other leaders attended.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Kiren Rijiju thanked the members of all the parties who attended the meeting. He said that the government has responded to all the questions and concerns raised by the opposition leaders.

He further said that all the opposition parties have assured the government that they will get their full support in whatever steps the government takes to deal with this situation.

Congress leaders Mukul Wasnik and Tariq Anwar, CPI-M MP John Brittas, Samajwadi Party MP Dharmendra Yadav and other opposition leaders were also present in this meeting.

This meeting has taken place amidst increasing tension in West Asia. Due to this tension, essential trade through sea route has been disrupted and concerns have increased regarding the safety of Indian citizens living in Gulf countries.
