Ujjwala Scheme: Govt says ‘stock enough’, but citizens suffer; Citizens panic over fuel crisis

  • Citizens flock for LPG and petrol
  • A severe consequence of the war in West Asia
  • Time for housewives to cook on kerosene

Ujjwala Scheme: Despite the government’s claim that there is no fuel shortage in the country, people are seen standing in long queues for cooking gas (LPG) in various parts of the state. The burden of Ujjwala Yojana is over and time has come for housewives to cook on kerosene. A picture of crowding at the petrol pump is seen for petrol and diesel as well. Petrol and diesel are being given to motorists in limited form at many petrol pumps. Some of the pumps have run out of fuel boards.

Due to the war in West Asia, the country’s gas and petrol crisis is getting worse. The central government claims that the country has sufficient reserves of petrol and gas. Ships with fuel are coming steadily. There is no reason to worry. A crisis-like situation is just a rumour. On the other hand, the government has allocated an additional 48,000 kilo liters of kerosene to all states to overcome the fuel crisis.

Maharashtra has received approximately 37,44,000 liters of kerosene. Government of Maharashtra has arranged to give 3 liters of kerosene to every ration card holder. Chhagan Bhujbal said that apart from ration shops, kerosene will also be distributed through petrol pumps. Why is there a shortage of gas and petrol despite adequate reserves? Such a question is being asked.
