Big turning point on the 27th day of Iran-America war: Trump received ‘gift’ of 10 oil tankers from Iran, is the war going to stop?
On the 27th day of the ongoing fierce conflict in West Asia, a disturbing news has emerged in the diplomatic circles. US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has allowed 10 oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz as a ‘gift’ to America to show its seriousness about ending the war. During a cabinet meeting at the White House, Trump presented this development as a major diplomatic victory for America and a sign of Iran’s capitulation. Trump’s claim: “First there was talk of 8 tankers, then we got 10.” President Trump said that Iran had initially promised to give way to eight big oil tankers. According to Trump, “They let eight large oil ships pass to show they were serious. They later apologized and sent two more tankers, bringing the total to 10.” Trump made an interesting revelation and said that he came to know about this when he himself saw these Pakistani flagged tankers passing on TV news. Trump upset over ‘toll tax’ in Hormuz. While on one hand Trump is describing the passing of tankers as positive, on the other hand he has expressed strong objection to Iran charging ‘toll’ through this sea route. Trump made it clear that such recovery should not take place on international waterways. He said this is a sign that Iran wants to come to the negotiating table and that the US is moving in the right direction. Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, who was present at the 15-point peace proposal and Iran’s ‘no’ cabinet meeting, confirmed that the US has presented a 15-point peace proposal to Iran. However, Iran has currently rejected this proposal outright. The proposal reportedly includes stringent conditions such as completely shutting down Iran’s nuclear program and limiting its ballistic missile capability. Iranian officials say that they are not in any direct talks with America. “We will become their nightmare”: Trump’s direct warning. Amidst the talks of peace, Trump also maintained his tough tone. He warned that now the decision is in Iran’s court. Trump said, “If they do not compromise, we will become their biggest nightmare. We will continue to target them without any restriction.” The President made it clear that either Iran should accept the terms of the ceasefire, or else be prepared to face serious consequences.
