Will lockdown be imposed again in the country? Union Minister Hardeep Puri replied

Tezzbuzz Desk- Amid global instability and rising energy prices, the central government has assured the countrymen that the situation is completely under control and there are no plans for any kind of lockdown. Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri issued a statement on social media and made it clear that the supply of fuel, energy and essential commodities is continuing smoothly in the country.

He said that even though the international situation remains uncertain, the government is constantly monitoring every aspect – energy, supply chain and essential commodities. The government under the leadership of Narendra Modi is ensuring that the common people do not face any kind of problem.

The minister specifically rejected the rumors spreading regarding the lockdown and said that no such proposal is under consideration at the government level. He appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors and behave responsibly.

Meanwhile, there has been a huge jump in the prices of crude oil in the international market. In the last one month, prices have increased from about $70 per barrel to $122. This has affected the prices of petrol and diesel globally. Prices in Southeast Asia have increased by 30 to 50 percent, while North America, Europe and Africa have also seen significant increases.

Hardeep Puri said that the government had two options – either increase the prices as per the international market, or provide relief to the general public by bearing the financial burden itself. The government chose another path so that citizens do not have to face the direct impact of global instability.

At the same time, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also assured regarding the situation. He said that the government is fully alert and the Prime Minister himself is monitoring the situation. His message is clear – no need to panic, the country is in safe hands.
