The Ministry of Defense India has recently approved two important defense agreements, the total value of which is said to be around Rs 858 crore. These decisions are going to significantly increase the capability of not only the Army but also the Navy.

Modern air defense system will be received from Russia

India has signed an important agreement with Rosoboronexport. Under this agreement, the Indian Army will get the Tunguska air defense missile system. This system has the capability to destroy enemy fighter aircraft, drones and cruise missiles in the air. It is clear from this deal that India does not want to compromise on the security of its borders and is continuously modernizing its defense system.

India-Russia defense relations will become stronger

India and Russia have long had strong defense relations. This new agreement will further deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries. Amid the changing global situation, this cooperation is considered very important for India.

Navy also got big support

The second major agreement has been signed with Boeing India. Under this, the maintenance work of P-8I maritime surveillance aircraft of the Indian Navy will be done within the country. The value of this deal is around Rs 413 crore.

Maritime security will become stronger

P-8I aircraft are one of the most important weapons of the Indian Navy. They are used to maintain surveillance at sea, detect enemy submarines and ensure security. After this agreement, the efficiency of these aircraft will further increase, which will strengthen India’s hold in the Indian Ocean region.

The special thing about this entire agreement is that the maintenance work will be done in the country itself. This will promote indigenous technology and India will move towards becoming self-reliant in the defense sector.
