RBI’s holiday list: Banks will remain closed for 14 days in April, this also includes weekly holidays.
New Delhi, 27 March. If we look at the list of holidays declared by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks are going to remain closed for 14 days across the country in April, 2026. However, it also includes weekly bank holidays.

If weekly holidays are removed, banks will remain closed for customers for eight days due to festivals and work related to the end of the financial year. In such a situation, it is advisable for the customers to check the information about bank holidays according to their city in advance, so that they do not face any problem at the last moment.
- Banks closed across the country on 1 April
The month will start from April 1, when banks across the country will remain closed due to annual account closing. No offline work will be possible in the bank on this day. That is, bank branches will be open, but there will be no public dealing. The branch will not be open to the public. Bank employees will do work related to their year ending closing.
- Good Friday holiday on 3 April
On the occasion of Good Friday on April 3, banking services will remain closed in many cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru.
- Holidays in many states from 14 to 16 April
During this period, banks will remain closed in states like Assam, West Bengal, Kerala and Tamil Nadu due to Bihu, Vishu, Tamil New Year and Ambedkar Jayanti.
- Impact in some states also on 20-21 April
Banking services will be limited on these dates in states like Karnataka and Tripura.
- Digital services will remain operational
However, despite bank branches remaining closed, customers can transfer or withdraw money through UPI, mobile banking, internet banking and ATMs. But check clearing, demand draft and branch related work will not be done these days. Therefore, it is better that important banking work is completed before the holidays, so that there is no problem later.
