Balendra Shah era begins in Nepal, takes oath as PM as per Hindu customs
New Delhi. A new era has started in India’s neighboring country Nepal from Friday. Rashtriya Swatantra Party leader Balendra Shah was today appointed the new Prime Minister of Nepal. After which Balendra Shah was sworn in as PM. Balendra Shah has become the 47th Prime Minister of Nepal. According to Nepali media, President Ramchandra Poudel appointed Balendra Shah as PM. After which Balendra Shah took oath as the new Prime Minister of Nepal. According to media reports, the ruling Rashtriya Swatantra Party has finalized the names of 14 ministers for the Balendra Shah-led government. According to reports, Sudan Gurung can be made the new Home Minister of the country. Gurung, who came into limelight due to Gen Z movement, reached the House after winning the election from Gorkha-2 seat.

Nepal’s President Ramchandra Paudel on Friday appointed former Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Shah Balendra Shah to the post under Article 76(1) of the Constitution, the President’s Office said in a statement. On Thursday, RSP elected Shah as the leader of its parliamentary party, paving the way for him to become the 47th Prime Minister of the country. The RSP had won a landslide victory in the recent parliamentary elections with almost a two-thirds majority.
Balendra Shah took oath as Prime Minister in a grand ceremony held at the President’s Office on Friday afternoon at 12:34 pm. This oath of office and secrecy was solemnized with Hindu rituals. On this occasion, seven conch players started the auspicious ceremony with conch sounds. According to tradition, blowing of conch shell at the beginning of auspicious works is considered a symbol of success and positivity.
