Under ‘Mission Shakti Abhiyan 5.0 (Second Phase)’, today Nawabganj police station organized a special awareness camp for women and girls in village Pipri.

Nawabganj, Gonda:

​Under the ‘Mission Shakti Abhiyan 5.0 (Second Phase)’ being run under the able direction of Uttar Pradesh Government and Superintendent of Police, Gonda, Vineet Jaiswal, today Nawabganj police station organized a special awareness camp for women and girls in village Pipri.

The main objective of this program organized under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Radheshyam Rai and Area Officer Dr. Umeshwar Prabhat Singh was to make women aware of their rights, safety and self-reliance.

​In the camp, Mission Shakti / Anti Romeo team under the leadership of Police Station Head Abhay Singh gave detailed information to the women and girls of village Pipri about ‘Mission Shakti Abhiyan 5.0’ started by the Honorable Chief Minister. The team said that the main goal of this campaign is to stop crimes against women like molestation, exploitation, dowry harassment, juvenile delinquency and acid attacks.

​Special emphasis was laid on ‘Mission Shakti Kendra’ established at every police station, where women can lodge their complaints without any hesitation. They were also made aware of important helpline numbers from security point of view. The team explained in detail to the women and girls about UP Emergency Service-112, Women Power Line 1090, Women Helpline 181, Childline 1098, Chief Minister Helpline 1076, Health Service 102, and Ambulance Service 108.

​To raise awareness about physical safety, the team also talked about good touch and bad touch. Pamphlets were distributed to make women and girls aware. Also, in view of increasing cyber crimes in today’s era, detailed information was also given about cyber helpline number 1930, so that they can remain alert about their online security.

​The Mission Shakti team included sub-inspector Anta Singh, constable Pranshi Yadav and constable Sunita Kushwaha, who interacted directly with women and girls and inspired them to become empowered. ​On this occasion, Police Station Head Abhay Singh said that the objective of Mission Shakti Abhiyan is not only to stop crimes but also to instill confidence in women and girls and provide them a safe environment.

The police is always ready to protect them and they can lodge their complaints without any fear. The women and girls of village Pipri appreciated this camp and called it a positive initiative.
