Attack on Iran’s nuclear sites, but major danger averted! IAEA gave important information
Amidst the increasing tension in West Asia, big news has come out regarding attacks on Iran’s nuclear weapons. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant was attacked for the third time in the last 10 days, but the matter of relief is that there has been no nuclear damage or radiation leakage.
According to the IAEA, despite the attack there was no damage to the operating weapons and the condition of the plant remained normal. Agency supervisor Rafael Mariano Grossi described such attacks as extremely worrying and warned that if the weapons are damaged, a major nuclear accident could occur.
Iran told the IAEA that the Khondab heavy water plant was also attacked. However, there is no radiation hazard because there was no declared nuclear material present in this plant. Apart from this, Shahid Rezayi Nejad Yellow Cake Production Facility (Yazd Province) was also visited, but here also the radiation level was found to be normal.
There have also been reports of an attack on Iran’s Khuzestan Steel Plant, where radioactive sources are used. Yet no off-site radiation was detected.
Iran’s warning – will have to pay a heavy price
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that an attack on a civilian nuclear dump would come at a “heavy price.” At the same time, the Iranian army accused America and Israel and said that they are “playing with fire”.
