After cricketers, commentators flee PSL! Left the Pakistan League and entered the IPL

Commentator Nick Knight Opts for IPL over PSL: Earlier players were leaving PSL for IPL and now the same trend has spread among commentators too. Former England opener Nick Knight was included in the list of commentators for Pakistan Super League 2026, but now his name has been added to the list for IPL 2026 as well.

Nick Knight was to be part of a team of PSL broadcasters, which included Carlos Brathwaite, Lisa Sthalekar, JP Duminy, Dominic Cork, Mark Butcher, Martin Guptill, Greg Blewett and Athar Ali Khan, as well as former Pakistan cricketers Wasim Akram, Rameez Raja, Aamir Sohail, Uruj Mumtaz and Bazid Khan. He will now work with Ian Bishop, Ravi Shastri, Harsha Bhogle, Darren Ganga, Danny Morrison and others. Even more surprising, Knight’s name appeared in the IPL broadcast team just a day after the start of PSL 2026. IPL 2026 will start on March 28.

Players who left PSL for IPL include Blessing Muzarbani, Dasun Shanaka and Spencer Johnson. Muzarbani was picked up by Islamabad United and now he has been picked up by KKR. Shanaka was with Lahore and will now play for Rajasthan Royals. Finally, Spencer Johnson signed with Islamabad and will now play for CSK.

Why is this happening?

This is especially true as the Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League are starting at the same time. Moreover, injuries to some IPL players have forced this change. Obviously, any player or commentator would prefer to pick a league that is rich in money.
