Funeral of martyred soldier in Nalanda, wife and children watched, people climbed on rooftops

Bihar News: Army jawan Suman Kumar Singh (alias Pankaj, 45), resident of Mokrampur Mirchayganj, Nalanda, died on Friday night after a prolonged illness. As soon as his mortal remains reached the village, people raised slogans of ‘Long live Martyr Suman Kumar’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. The wife hugged the dead body and cried, while the children kept staring at their father.

Treatment was going on in Lucknow hospital

Suman Kumar was posted on duty in Ladakh. He was undergoing treatment in Lucknow hospital for about a month. He had serious problems of blood cancer and jaundice. Despite the efforts of the doctors in the hospital, he breathed his last on 27 March.

Martyrdom and service will not go in vain

Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar was also present at the funeral and paid tribute to the soldier. The minister said that Suman Kumar protected the country’s border for a long time. His martyrdom and service will not go in vain. The government stands with his family in this hour of crisis.

Younger brother working in CISF

Martyr Suman Kumar Singh was the pillar of his family. He was the elder of two brothers, while the younger brother is also working in CISF. He left behind his wife and two daughters (17 and 16 years old) and two sons (13–14 years old). The family said that the morale of the children has been greatly affected by the death of their father.

Government facilities will be made available

Minister Shravan Kumar assured the family that all the assistance and facilities as per government rules will be made available to the family without any hindrance.
