Amidst the deepening petroleum crisis due to Gulf War, cow dung gas will become a source of relief in UP… Know the masterplan of Yogi government
Lucknow (Bureau): The deepening military tension between Iran, America and Israel in the Middle East has increased the heartbeats of the entire world. Amidst this horror of war, a major crisis has arisen in the global energy market and countries like India are in danger of disruption in the supply of petroleum products. But, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has prepared an unprecedented ‘indigenous shield’ to deal with this international crisis. In view of the possible crisis of LPG coming from Gulf countries, now the cow shelters of UP are going to become the new power houses of energy production.
7,527 cowsheds will become ‘energy centres’: support of 12 lakh cows
The state government has taken an ambitious decision to convert all 7,527 cow shelters and cow shelters in the state into biogas plants (dung gas). At present, about 12.39 lakh cattle of cattle are present in these centers of Uttar Pradesh. Till now the use of cow dung from these cowsheds was limited only to making organic fertilizer and compost, but now every part of it will be used for fuel production. The aim of the government is to make the state self-reliant in the matter of cooking gas so that the rise in crude oil prices in the international market does not affect the kitchens of the common people.
Chief Minister’s instructions on mission mode: Steps towards self-reliance
According to Shyam Bihari Gupta, Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Cow-Service Commission, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given strict instructions to run this project on ‘mission mode’. At present, biogas plants are fully functional in 80 big cow sheds of the state as a model of success. In the first phase of the scheme, plants will be planted in all government and protected cow shelters. After this, in the second phase, individual cattle farmers will also be connected to this huge energy chain. According to the data, lakhs of cows growing in 6,433 temporary cow sheds and 518 large cow protection centers will form the backbone of this scheme.
Gulf war vs UP’s indigenous option: security cover ready
Experts believe that if this war in the Gulf countries continues for a long time, the crude oil supply chain may completely collapse. In such a situation, this biogas model of Uttar Pradesh will prove to be a strong protective shield for rural and semi-urban areas. This will not only lead to scientific management of waste, but will also provide cheap and accessible sources of energy in the villages. Under the Chief Minister Partnership Scheme, there is a preparation to make lakhs of cattle owned by cattle herders a part of this scheme, which will give a new impetus to the rural economy.
Confluence of environmental protection and economic strength
This initiative will not only ensure energy security, but is also a revolutionary step towards environment protection. The use of cow dung gas will reduce carbon emissions and will provide relief to the poor from the possible increase in the prices of LPG. This far-reaching thinking of Yogi government is preparing Uttar Pradesh to deal with future energy crises. Now the cowsheds of the state will not only become centers of faith but will also become a symbol of economic and energy self-reliance.
