‘Chargesheet battle’ in Bengal: TMC counterattacks on BJP’s allegations, political war intensifies
Kolkata. The political turmoil has intensified before the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal. In response to the ‘charge sheet’ issued by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Trinamool Congress (TMC) has also presented its ‘charge sheet’ against the BJP.
TMC’s ‘Mota Bhai-Jawab Chai’ charge sheet-
TMC has named its chargesheet as ‘Mota Bhai-Jawab Chai’. In this, BJP has been cornered on issues like women’s safety in BJP-ruled states, caste violence in Manipur and the alleged intention to implement detention camp model in Bengal.
Questions raised on Manipur violence-
TMC MP Mahua Moitra sought answers from Amit Shah regarding the ongoing violence in Manipur. He said the state was ‘soaked in blood’ for the last three years and the central government had failed to take effective action on it.
“Bengalis are being insulted”-
Mahua Moitra alleged that the BJP was portraying Bengalis as criminals. He said that first insult, then deprive, then criminalize and finally harass – this is the strategy of BJP.
Questions on ED’s action also-
Moitra raised questions on the action of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), saying that the agency is being misused. He claimed that most of the cases have been registered against opposition leaders and the conviction rate is extremely low.
Conflict intensified in politics-
TMC accused BJP of doing politics of hatred, while BJP has already raised questions on corruption and law and order on the state government.
