Called to the crematorium at midnight… did tantra-mantra in the name of exorcising ghosts, then… couple badly trapped in the trap of hypocritical Baba

Khandwa/Jawar: A soul-stirring story of superstition and fraud has come to light from Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, which has shaken human sensibilities. By luring a grieving couple out of the grief of losing their child, an impostor Baba and his associate not only performed tantric rituals in the crematorium, but also made them drink intoxicants and wiped out their life’s wealth. The police have now registered a case against this ‘illusion’ and started investigation.

Grief of losing child and entry of ‘Pankaj’: The game of conspiracy begins

The incident started with the tragedy of a family of Jawar police station area. The victim told that during the delivery on January 1, her child became still in the womb, after which the family was struggling with mental and financial problems. To take advantage of this compulsion, on January 20, her husband’s old acquaintance Pankaj Nath (resident of Kothra) was found near ‘Sailani Baba’ Dargah. Through conversation, Pankaj instilled the fear of ghosts in the family and wove a trap to introduce them to a self-proclaimed Baba of Betul.

‘Handi’ puja in the crematorium at midnight: First injury of Rs 35 thousand

Hypocritical Baba and Pankaj first called their husband to the crematorium on the banks of Narmada in Handia (Harda) on 31 January. It was around 3 o’clock in the night, when Baba started tantra-mantra in the silence of the crematorium. 35 thousand rupees were kept in a pot, incense and incense sticks were smoked and it was tied in a red cloth. Baba claimed that by keeping this pot in the cupboard and worshiping it for a month and a quarter, all the troubles will be averted. The innocent husband could not understand this dangerous game of Baba and returned home.

Sister-in-law and sister-in-law were given intoxicants, lakhs of rupees kept in the house

The most disgusting incident of cheating took place when Pankaj and Baba reached the victim’s house. Sister-in-law was also present in the house. In the name of treatment, Baba fed ghosts to both the women and after chanting mantras in the water, they made them drink some intoxicating substance. As soon as he got drunk, Baba asked for all the money kept in the house. The victim gave Rs 1 lakh borrowed from her sister-in-law to Baba for roofing the house. Baba kept the bundle of money in his bag in the name of ‘purification’ and ran away, promising to return it in two days.

Fear of untoward incident and fraud of Rs 2.30 lakh

The hunger of the accused was not satiated here. On February 17, Pankaj started scaring people over the phone by threatening them with the death of the child and anything untoward happening to the family. Out of fear, the couple also transferred Rs 95 thousand online. In this way, a total of Rs 2 lakh 30 thousand was embezzled in instalments. When they realized the fraud, the couple narrated their ordeal at Jawar police station. Police station in-charge Shyam Singh Bhadale said that a case of fraud has been registered against accused Pankaj Nath and mobile holder Baba.
