Now RCB will bear the brunt of Virat Kohli’s mistake, the run machine made a mistake in the very first match.

The first match of IPL 2026 is being played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chinnaswamy Stadium. SRH team, which came to bat first after losing the toss in the high voltage match, recovered from a bad start and set a target of 202 runs. In the match being played with Sunrisers Hyderabad, RCB brought fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the 18th over, on whose ball Virat Kohli dropped a catch. Actually, Aniket Verma played a shot on Bhuvneshwar’s ball, came running from long-on, reached the ball but the ball slipped from his hands and hit his thighs. Aniket tried to play a shot on the full length ball without looking but the ball went high. Kohli could not catch the catch and looked more surprised than surprised.

RCB had to bear the brunt

Aniket Verma, whose catch was dropped by Virat Kohli, played an important role in taking his team beyond the score of 200 runs by hitting sixes and fours. When Kohli dropped the catch of Aniket in the 18th over, he was playing after scoring 27 runs on 13 balls.

At the same time, Aniket played an inning of 42 runs in 18 balls against RCB, which included 3 fours and 4 sixes. During this period his strike rate was 238.89. It would not be wrong to say that if Virat had taken Aniket’s catch at that time, the Hyderabad team would not have been able to cross the 200-run mark. It is not hidden from anyone that when there is a target of 202 runs on the board, there is pressure on the batting team.

RCB got the target of 202 runs

Sunrisers Hyderabad did not get a good start as the team lost 3 wickets in the power play itself. But then Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen formed a partnership and brought the team back. Captain Ishan Kishan played the biggest innings of 80 runs for SRH. So, 24 year old Aniket Verma took the scoreboard of SRH rapidly by playing an inning of 43 runs. In this way, Hyderabad team scored 201 runs at the loss of 9 wickets and gave the target of 202 runs to RCB.
