A fight that started between children over coming uninvited to a wedding ceremony in Delhi’s Ranibagh area on Friday night turned into a fight between the two parties. One party attacked two minors of the other party with a knife. 17-year-old Nikhil Yadav died in the attack, while Sunny was injured. Police have registered a case of murder and have arrested five accused, including an adult, on the basis of CCTV footage.

Outer District Police Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh said that at around 11:15 pm on Friday night, information about stabbing was received in Jhang Bhawan of Shakurbasti. When the police reached the spot, they found that two boys were injured and were taken to the hospital. Doctors declared Nikhil Yadav dead, while Sunny is undergoing treatment.

Investigation revealed that Nikhil and Sunny are residents of Naharpur area of ​​Rohini. Nikhil was a bike mechanic and had come to attend the wedding ceremony. Meanwhile, a child had an argument with a boy who had come uninvited, which later turned into a violent fight.

The police team, under the leadership of station in-charge Praveen Kumar, after scanning the CCTV footage and raiding several places, arrested five accused, including four minors. Police have also recovered the knife and clothes used in the crime from the accused.
